DUO International is a subscription service that assigns a local number from the selected DUO country to the registered Globe Prepaid, Postpaid or TM mobile number. Callers from abroad can dial the assigned DUO number, giving them a 'local' calling experience. The service provides people abroad a much affordable call rate compared to the standard IDD call rates to the Philippines.

  • DUO International is Globe's only offer that allows a subscriber to have his own international number.
  • People abroad can call you as often as they want and will be charged domestic rates instead of having to spend on IDD calls. This applies as long as the mobile or landline number the caller has the same country code as the DUO International number.
  • The rate to call a DUO International number is also flexible, as it will be solely determined by the International mobile or landline plan. The caller from abroad will be charged based on his or her existing landline or mobile subscription plan.

If your subscription to the site has failed, Globe will not charge the customer for this attempt. In this case, the card was only earmarked for funds and not fully charged (this is usually referred to as card authorization), and will be returned since the subscription did not push through. The amount will not be shown on your card statement balance, rather it will only be earmarking the available balance. Depending on your bank's policy for returning earmarked transactions, the available balance can be returned within a day to a few days.

Yes, it will be the same DUO International number even if you change your prepaid SIM, as long as you retain your original Globe Prepaid number. Your DUO International number is attached to your mobile number, not the SIM.

It may be due to the following reasons:

  1. The number you are registering is not a valid Globe or TM mobile number - try calling the Globe or TM mobile number and see if it rings. If the prompt is "number you have dialed is incorrect", it means that the number is not valid or the SIM of the Globe mobile has already expired. Try registering using a valid number.

  2. If the site prompts you "Credit Card Authorization Reject", your card may have been rejected by your bank -- verify that the card information that you have provided is correct, you are able to purchase over the internet, and that you have sufficient funds to register to the service. You may check with your card-issuing bank on the details of the rejection, and retry if your bank gives the go signal.

  3. For some countries, you can only renew the service at least 4 hours after expiry of your previous subscription. This is due to a system refresh being done on the system. Please retry registering after 4 hours to ensure that the subscription is successful.

  4. If the site prompts you "This transaction is not allowed", please use another card to register to the service. The site protects users against fraudulent activity and blocks potential abusive users from the service. If you think that the transaction should not have been blocked, please call our customer care to help you with your concern.

  5. If the problem is not due to the above reasons and it still persists, call our customer care to help you with your concern.

It may be due to the following reasons:

  1. Your subscription to DUO already expired - you may check your status by texting DUO <COUNTRY> BAL and send to 143.

  2. Your contact abroad dialed a wrong number or in the wrong format - check if the DUO International number dialed is correct, or if it was dialed using the correct format of 00+ Country Code + DUO International Number. You may check the DUO International number attached via the email or SMS confirmation, or by calling our customer service.

  3. The Globe or TM number attached to the DUO International number is busy, cannot be reached, or has no signal - check the status of the Globe or TM number if it is reachable by calling the mobile number directly. If the Globe number cannot be reached or is busy, then the DUO International number also cannot be connected.

  4. The caller's operator cannot connect the call - caller can check if they can call the DUO International number using other lines. If they are able to connect using other lines, the caller can check with their operator/provider on connecting to the DUO International number.

  5. Your account may have been suspended due to excessive usage of the service. Globe applies Fair Usage Policy to ensure that all customers will have the equal opportunity to enjoy the services offered by Globe. Abusive usage affects the Globe network and another Globe subscribers' use or access to Globe services. You may have been notified by our accredited international partner about your usage pattern and advised to lessen usage to avoid deactivation of the service a few days ago.

  6. If the problem is not due to the above reasons and it still persists, call our customer care to help you with your concern.

It could be due to the following reasons:

  1. If you fail to renew your subscription within five (5) days from expiry date, you cannot get your old number since the system will automatically assign you a new DUO International number.

  3. You registered via SMS for your renewal which gives you a new number vs. registering over the web for your first subscription. The reverse also applies; if you renewed over the web vs. your original registration which is via SMS, you will get a new number.
